Lionel Jadot - Mixed Grill at the CID Grand Hornu

Lionel Jadot is a Brussel based interior designer and he is the author of many spectacular private design. He is a creator of strange things. He collected objects left and right creating unlikely objects that combine the most unexpected materials: lamps, chairs, tables, cupboards, benches, and even a motorcycle.
Rather than an exhibition it is a work-in-progress that we discover. A singular practice, an approach with the material and a process of original creation. His Studio will be installed in the museum where he will express his rebellious craftsman-creator personality. Lionel creates objects of all kinds, from materials and products waste which he collects since his childhood. He gives shape to furniture, lamps and accesories so uninhibited beyond style and economical/production contraint. His work is like a form of up-cycling, a material reconversion in order to make new objects.

The title "mix grill" describes his way of cooking on the fire of inspiration where ideas mingle with tasty results and unlikely mix. This is the case of Primal wheels a wide trunk  which attracted the designer at a point he wanted to ride it on the road. An engine of a BMW R75 1972, a saddle and belts were added so the motorcycle was ready to be driven.

Throughout the exhibition, Lionel Jadot will himself and his team be present on site to continue this great perpetual building site of upcycling. It will be displayed until the 4th December at CID Grand Hornu.
